UAP’s AmplifiED Benefit was celebrated on Monday, April 16 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan. The event honored Marissa Shorenstein, Northeast Regional President at AT&T, longtime UAP Board member Niclas Nagler, and actor and UAP Artistic Board member Michael Kenneth Williams.
The lively event featured excellent performances from students and celebrity talent alike. Students performed from P.S. 132, M.S. 528, Pan American High School, and the Kurt Hahn Expeditionary Learning School. Broadway actor Alex Newell and Tony-award winner Cynthia Erivo headlined the celebrity performances, and D.M.C. kicked off the dance party portion of the evening. Presenters for the evening included Tony award nominee Danielle Brooks, Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg, television personality Carson Kressley, actor Tracie Thoms, and actor Jenna Ushkowitz, among others.
The event was a huge success, raising close to $700,000 to support UAP’s programming in New York City public schools.
